Isamu Noguchi exhibition opens

Underground Gallery, Garden Gallery and open air

This summer, Yorkshire Sculpture Park presents a major exhibition of work by Isamu Noguchi, providing the first opportunity for a European audience to experience a large-scale, critical exhibition of this important artist’s work. One of the great artists of the 20th century, Noguchi created a significant and influential body of work from indoor stone carvings, assemblage works and ceramics to works on paper, furniture and landscape architecture.

Sarah Staton exhibition opens

Bothy Gallery and open air

The exhibition includes stacked sculpture, slotted sculpture and pieces fabricated using old and new commercial technologies. Drawings and watercolours included in the show reveal the starting point and process of Staton’s work. The artist has also created site-specific outdoor work; a sculptural space that can be entered, with windows and vistas that play on and emphasise notions of the picturesque.
