Nubiyan Twist are a 10 piece band that performs an exciting fusion of Afrobeat, reggae, hip-hop and jazz. They bring their upbeat blend of music to the Underground Gallery alongside Yinka Shonibare’s
FABRIC–ATION exhibition, combining soulful female vocals with live dubs, electronics, turntablism and heavy horns.
Shonibare has a strong interest in Afrobeat and cites its Nigerian founder Fela Kuti as a huge source of inspiration. Afrobeat originated from the southern part of Nigeria in the 1960s and is a combination of traditional Yoruba music, jazz, highlife, funk and chanted vocals, fused with percussion and different vocal styles.

- The YSP Restaurant will be closed for a private function. The YSP Coffee Shop will be open until 19.00 serving light refreshments and drinks. Drinks are not permitted in the Gallery.
- Free parking to participants is available after 18.30 only.
