Join YSP and Rowan
to celebrate wool and all things woolly by coming along to our PicKnit on Sunday 20 October.
PicKnit, in association with Campaign for Wool
's famous wool week, will involve taking out blankets, unveiling sandwiches and cakes and of course, knitting! Learn how to knit, or polish your existing skills with our fabulous knitted blanket design made up of individual colourful squares.
We have linked up with Donna Wilson
, who brought her knitted wonders to a highly succesful solo exibition at the Park in 2011, to bring an oversized photo booth, complete with landscape, clouds and featuring a giant wolf in sheep’s clothing, so drop by and join in the fun.
You can also visit our 'pom-pom station' and add your handmade creation to the vibrant display. There will also be the opportunity to see a variety of different knitted garments and homeware pieces on display, plus a chance to learn more about the different breeds of sheep used in the wool industry.
About Campaign for Wool
The Campaign for Wool
is a global endeavour initiated by its patron, His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales, in order to raise awareness amongst consumers about the unique, natural and sustainable benefits offered by wool. Encouraging collaboration between an international community of woolgrowers, major fashion designers, retailers, manufacturers, artisans and interior designers, the Campaign has been instrumental in educating consumers about the versatility of wool, reconnecting them with its myriad uses.
