Following a year-long and very successful partnership, YSP and Opera North continue to collaborate in 2012.
"The painting rises from the brushstrokes as a poem rises from the words. The meaning comes later." Joan Miró
In the beautiful, intimate surroundings of the Chapel, musicians and singers from Opera North celebrate the opening of the Joan Miró show, and evoke the spirit of Springtime. Led by musician extraordinaire and master of ceremonies, Matthew Sharp, and including a harp amongst other instruments, the ensemble will perform music that inspired Miró – from his Parisian companions Satie and Ravel, through to later influences including American jazz pianist, Dave Brubeck.
