To celebrate Sir Eduardo Paolozzi’s 70th birthday, Yorkshire Sculpture Park presented a major exhibition of his work. The exhibition surveyed an outstanding career, from Horse’s Head of 1947 to the models made for the Wealth of Nations commission for the Royal Bank of Scotland in 1993 and his most recent screen-prints, Studies for Wittgenstein

More Information

Born in Edinburgh in 1924, Paolozzi had been one of Britain’s leading and most innovative artists for over 45 years. He rose to prominence as one of the post-war ‘iron-age’ sculptors, but quickly developed a personal philosophy and method of working, which anticipated the British Pop art movement of the sixties. Since then his work has continued to evolve in dramatically different directions and even today, at the age of 70, continues to question, experiment and explore.
