YSP is delighted to be collaborating with Creative India to share the exceptional talent of the emerging contemporary art scene in India and this summer welcomes Hemali Bhuta as visiting artist. Based in the Bothy Gallery, Bhuta will develop new work in response to the Park, its landscape and heritage, through conversations with visitors and staff.

More Information

Hemali is especially interested in shrines, folklore related to trees (particularly beech trees) and anything associated with trees, their roots and local significance. Please share any relevant information you might have by leaving a note at the Information Desk marked for Hemali’s attention or by emailing info@ysp.co.uk. All knowledge is very much appreciated.

Having trained at the LS Raheja School of Art, Mumbai, and MS University, Baroda, Hemali Bhuta has exhibited and worked all over the world, most recently in the Lines of Thought exhibition at Parasol Unit, London. Bhuta often creates site-specific installations in perishable material, such as wax and candles, that explore ideas of process and permanence.
