YSP has a wide network of partners, resulting in collaboration, increased efficiency and innovation. YSP staff expertise is embedded into the visual arts and community infrastructure regionally, nationally and internationally.
YSP has a long track record of presenting projects off-site, be it a community engagement project and art installation, Cratehouse for Castleford, in a neighbouring town (birthplace of Henry Moore), exhibiting Sophie Ryder’s Crawling and Igor Mitoraj’s Heros de Lumiere at the Great Yorkshire Show 2011 (supported by Welcome to Yorkshire), or a major international exhibition mounted in Italy, Germany or Spain.
YSP Director of Programme, Clare Lilley, has curated the critically acclaimed Frieze Sculpture Park since 2012 and Senior Curator, Helen Pheby, co-curated the first Kyiv Sculpture Project in the city’s Botanical Gardens to coincide with Euro 2012 and the first Kyiv Biennial, visited by over 600,000 people in one month.
Other recent off-site projects include a Elisabeth Frink retrospective (a collaboration with Lightbox Gallery, Woking) and William Turnbull at Chatsworth House (curated by Clare Lilley).
