Give Your Time

Volunteering is a great way to be a part of Yorkshire Sculpture Park’s work. YSP greatly values the time given by volunteers and the skills, knowledge and experience they bring to our teams. We are committed to equality and inclusion in all our work.

Volunteering roles
  • Art and Landscape Volunteers - To help with the interpretation of the art and heritage of YSP and the site which it occupies. The main task for these volunteers will be leading free, art and heritage-based tours of the landscape for visitors. Volunteers will be given training on the art and heritage of the site, interpretation techniques, and will be encouraged to develop their own tours and style of delivery around their own particular interests.
  • Learning Programme Volunteers - The Learning team regularly require the help of volunteers when running educational arts activities and events. This is great experience for people who want to work with the public or in education and could involve sessions with people of all ages and backgrounds.
  • Volunteer Gallery Assistant - Providing a high level of visitor service through communication and interaction whilst invigilating exhibitions in the indoor galleries.
  • Landscape Volunteers - The Estate team welcomes those who would like to volunteer with practical tasks in the park. Our projects are many and varied, from conservation work in the nature reserves to seasonal horticultural work on the formal border and gardens. Whatever your interest in the outdoors there is something for everyone volunteering for the Estates and Gardens Team.
Occasionally opportunities occur in other roles, such as administration, marketing, and visitor information, so if you have any particular interests or skills that you would like to bring to YSP in a voluntary role please contact us and we can discuss the possibilities.
