Liadin Cooke is an artist noted for the understated detail of her work, embodied especially acutely in her miniatures, and the care with which she develops and delivers her ideas. The two-year period over which she prepared her works for her 2006 exhibition at Yorkshire Sculpture Park, with which this book was published to coincide, is a memorable example. Displaying through colour photographs the phase during which Cooke progressed from her earlier, narrative style to one whose theme of resilience was implied by her use of materials including bronze, iron, stone and aluminium, this book examines the work of an artist who takes inspiration from the nuances in the various historical names given to tulips.
