Ruler for measuring the growth of human beings is Rob Ryan’s first piece for SCP and features his characteristic paper cut design. The rulers are made from birch plywood and each one is individually screen printed by hand in two colours. In keeping with his distinctive style, a poem is interwoven with whimsical imagery resulting in a highly decorative yet functional piece. Traditionally a child’s height is recorded with notches on a door frame, but the ruler allows you to move house or even move rooms and not lose your record.
