Longside Gallery

Visit Longside Gallery, a stunning space offering extensive views of Yorkshire Sculpture Park. Longside Gallery was once an indoor riding arena. Now converted, its huge area and view makes it a unique exhibition space. Today, YSP and the Hayward Gallery, Southbank Centre, London, share Longside Gallery for an exciting programme of exhibitions. The Hayward uses Longside Gallery to present displays from the Arts Council Collection - the largest loan collection of modern and contemporary British art in the world - which it manages on behalf of Arts Council England

How to get there

There is no onsite parking at Longside Gallery except for Blue Badge holders. Visitors can reach the gallery during exhibition times by free minibus or on foot from the YSP Centre.

By bus: a regular free shuttle bus service is in operation between the YSP Centre car park and Longside Gallery during exhibition periods. There may be queues for this service at peak times. At such times, priority will be given to visitors less able to make the journey on foot. Journey time: approx. 10 minutes.

On foot: Pick up a map at the YSP Centre and follow the designated walking route (2km) to Longside Gallery. The route follows an uneven path with uphill stretches and may not be suitable for some visitors. Please follow the YSP Code, keep to the prescribed route and respect agricultural land and livestock, close gates behind you and keep to pathways. Dogs must be kept on leads at all times. Journey time: approximately 35 minutes each way.

Visitors with disabilities

Longside Gallery is accessible by car to Blue Badge holders only. Please contact the Information Desk in the YSP Centre for directions (01924 832631). Free Blue Badge car parking can be found immediately outside the Longside Gallery entrance.

Facilities

Toilets, cloakroom and baby-changing facilities. Assistance dogs only in the gallery. There is a drinking fountain at Longside Gallery. For a wider range of refreshments, please use the facilities at the YSP Centre.
